58 offices in rural areas join the Acelera pyme Offices network

Last August, Red.es, an entity attached to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, through the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, made public the resolution of the grants for the expansion of the Acelera pyme Office Network.

The objective of these grants is to promote the adoption of technologies by SMEs, freelancers and entrepreneurs in municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants. This initiative is part of the Acelera pyme program that seeks to support small and medium-sized companies in their digital transformation. All this, to promote the development of the whole country and the economy, contributing to the maintenance of the rural population in the context of the demographic challenge.

Resolution of the call for applications

A total of 96 applications were submitted to the call for proposals. Of these, 58 entities have been benefited and will join the network of Acelera pyme Offices. These entities include professional and business associations, professional associations, technology centres, regional or local administrations, among others. 

Territorial coverage of the Acelera pyme Offices network

 In order to promote the transformation of society and the economy towards a digital environment, the Acelera pyme Offices that will be created under this call will be spread across 16 autonomous communities. They will be present in the following communities: 

It should be noted that all these offices will have both a physical and a virtual point. In this way, the aim is to provide a better resolution of doubts to all SMEs, and support in their digital transformation processes. In addition, they will also carry out awareness actions that will be available to all users. All this, also with the aim of fighting against the depopulation of Spain.

In this way, these 58 offices join the 85 already set up by Red.es through an agreement with the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and a previously launched call for grants. In total, the investment in Acelera pyme Offices amounts to €45.1 million.

Financial Scope

The amount allocated for each of the Offices ranges between €300,000 and €410,000 for two years. A total budget of 27.1 million euros is available to subsidize the projects in this call. On this occasion, Red.es will provide 21.1 million euros and the beneficiary entities will provide the rest. The call is co-financed with the European Union's Next Generation funds.
